A terrific remark by Louise Antony, writing on Ask Philosophers:

I’m the kind of atheist who thinks that God most respects people who apportion their beliefs to the evidence.

  1. I was reading Louis P. Pojman, Classics of Philosophy, Volume III: The Twentieth Century, OUP (2001) and saw this on p. 42:

    He [Bertrand Russell] was asked what he would say to God when, after death, he was asked by God why he didn’t believe in Him. Russell replied, “God, why did you make the evidence for your existence so insufficient?”.
