I have added three more short book notes to the Appendix to the Beginning Mathematical Logic Study Guide, discussing
- Wolfgang Rautenberg A Concise Introduction to Mathematical Logic (3rd ed, 2010). Overall too concise — but ok on recursive functions and Gödelian incompleteness.
- Shashi Mohan Srivastava, A Course on Mathematical Logic (2nd ed, 2013) Very short first edition could make useful supplementary reading.
- Michael O’Leary, A First Course in Mathematical Logic and Set Theory (2016). Not recommended.
These and other entries are also linked in the growing table of Book Notes.
Added: That’s very annoying! URLs pointing to “named destinations” inside a PDF work perfectly in Safari and Firefox on my MacBook but, it turns out, not in the iOS versions of Safari and Firefox on my iPad. I’ll have to rethink. For the moment, I’ve redone the PDF of the Appendix so that when the links don’t work as intended, you’ll now be taken straight to the contents page of the Appendix and can click on the internal link inside the PDF to take you to the book note you want ….
